Clay Portrait Modelling Workshop

  • Rye Creative Centre New Road England, TN31 United Kingdom (map)

Introduction:

This 3 day workshop is a perfect introduction to sculpting in clay. You will produce a life size bust from life.

Over the weekend you will learn everything you need to know to create a sculpture; armature construction, clay modelling, anatomy, measuring & how to prepare for firing.

Stephanie trained in classical sculpture at City & Guilds Art School, she has 30 years experience working as a commercial sculptor and tutor.

This course is suitable for all ability levels, there is a maximum of 8 students. All tools, materials and refreshments are provided, however be aware you will be taking your portraits home with you!.

Cost:

£360 for the 3 days

Times:

Friday 7th, Saturday 8th  & Sunday 9th June from 10 - 5 pm

Note:

Because of time constraints your work will not be fired at the workshop. I will explain how to prepare your portrait for firing at home or in a ceramics workshop and how to find a kiln near you.

I suggest you bring a large plastic box with weights to transport your portrait bust

Thanks so much for such a great course. It was such a lovely group, great guy model, and the teaching really superb. You are always so encouraging and helpful and create such a wonderful atmosphere - fun, focussed, interesting and creatively relaxed… thank you!
