Christmas Lino Printing

Join artist Georgie Watson for this workshop, in which you will learn the basics of lino printing in order to design and make your own block which can be used to make cards, gift wrap or fine art prints.

About the day:
You will start by looking at some winter inspired prints by some of our best contemporary relief printmakers. Georgie will then demonstrate the stages for creating your print and then you will spend the day designing and carving your block in order to create beautiful prints!

There will be a lunch break at 12.30pm and you will need to bring a pack lunch or purchase something from our lovely cafe at the entrance to the centre. The cost includes a lovely taster kit to take home so you can continue your new found skill at home.

Please wear old clothes or bring along an apron.

About the artist:
Georgie Watson is a landscape artist working from her studio at the Rye Creative centre. She learnt the craft of printmaking with local wildlife artist Robert Greenhalf when she moved into her studio 8 years ago. In recent years her love for painting outdoors has taken over but she still returns to printmaking when an idea emerges inspired by a day out walking and painting.
