Introduction
Have you ever wanted to capture someone’s face in a sculpture? Working from a life model to create a clay portrait is an incredibly rewarding experience. This course is designed for both beginners and those with prior sculpting experience.
Over the 5 sessions, you’ll learn how to study the head from multiple angles, use an armature, and sculpt in clay using comparative measurements with calipers, your eyes, and a variety of tools, blocks, and your fingers.
You can choose to model a relief, a portrait, or a small figure/maquette in clay, and we can discuss your choice on the first day.
The sessions include demonstrations of techniques, along with personalised feedback.
Please note that firing your piece costs £25, or you can take your work home to fire in your own kiln.
When
