Clay modelling from life with Stephanie Rubin
This is a friendly, informal course for adults. All ability levels are welcome. You will
learn how to model a portrait bust from life, using observation & measuring
techniques.
During the course you will:
Learn how to closely observe your subject.
Use measuring techniques to aid the structure
Have the opportunity to research different sculptors and their methods.
Find a modelling technique that you can work with.
Prepare your clay model for firing.
Time: Thursday daytime 10am – 1pm

Booking
To book a place on the course, please email me. Places are limited to only 8 and
can only be booked on receipt of the fees. Please note: The course fees are non-
refundable from 3 weeks before the first session, but if in the event the course is
cancelled, student fees will be fully refunded.

About the Tutor
Stephanie Rubin is a fine art sculptor and portrait modeller. She has worked
as a commercial sculptor for 30 years. Stephanie studied at City & Guilds of
London Art School from 1989 – 93 and has a BA in Fine Art Sculpture. She is
an experienced teacher with a City and Guilds qualification.
