Papercut Plants Workshop

Papercut Plants Workshop – with Louise Pettifer

Using fresh flowers & floral imagery as inspiration, you will produce a collage, using papercutting and other collage techniques. You will make a few simple line drawings using a set of guided exercises, these have a focus on relaxation and are light-hearted and fun - you don’t need any drawing experience to enjoy this workshop. We will paint papers with colours inspired by the flowers we are studying. We will use scissors and craft knives to cut shapes and glue these into position with pritt stick glue or PVA.

Materials will be provided but please bring your preferred scissors & craft knife if you have them and any papers you would particularly like to collage with – including old printed or painted sketchbook pages.

Tickets are £30 per person.
To book your place, or for further information, please e-mail Louise on: hello@louisepettifer.co.uk

About Louise Pettifer

I am an artist inspired and uplifted by the gardens, countryside, coast and wilder areas of Kent and East Sussex. I make my work using a combination of printmaking, drawing and intricate cut paper collage. I was fortunate to work at Sissinghurst Castle Garden, as artist in residence and I have recently been a recipient for Arts Council funding to develop a body of work inspired by rewilding. My work is included in a book called Textile Nature, by Anne Kelly, published by Batsford. I hold a BA in Textiles, specialising in printmaking and an MA in drawing.  I have taught in schools to GCSE and A level for ten years and taught workshops for young children, families and adults.
