Exhibitions & Events
Assembly is a compelling and timely exhibition curated to reflect a new geography of contemporary art practice as artists shift their focus away from the capital.
This is an excellent opportunity to talk first-hand to the artists and to view their work in the environment in which it was created, with the added bonus of being able to buy directly from the artist.
Classes & Workshops
Rye Creative Centre's resident artist, Paula MacArthur, is leading photopolymer etching workshops once a month in our print room.
The class is designed for those with some drawing experience but who want to develop looking at the figure using paint.

From 10th January 2024 to 14th February 2024, Rye Creative Centre's resident artist, Nick Archer, will be conducting both tutored and untutored life drawing classes at the Centre every Wednesday.
This is a great way to introduce yourself to working with clay. A structured project working from reference material.
I am running two oil painting workshops in April for anyone interested in building their confidence in oils, with landscape as the subject. The Countryside is the subject for the first workshop and Coastal for the second.
In partnership with Rye Art gallery and their exhibition ‘The Art of British Printmaking’ Nick will be running a workshop in the Print Room at Rye Creative Centre – ‘An Introduction to Printmaking (Monoprint and Dry point Etching)’.
This three day workshop is a perfect introduction to sculpting in clay. Over the weekend you will you will produce a life size bust from life and learn everything you need to know to create a sculpture; armature construction, clay modelling, anatomy, measuring & how to prepare for firing.
