Georgie Watson is a landscape artist working from her studio at the Rye Creative Centre and living in Camber Sands. The themes in her work reflect a passion for watersports, and a close connection with nature. With the East Sussex coast as her primary source of inspiration, she often paints and sketches out on the sand dunes at Camber and the Romney Marshes where the vast ever changing skies dictate the direction of new piece. The plein air paintings and sketches allow her to capture fleeting colours and moments often leading to new interpretation in the studio.

She studied at Maidstone College of art and followed a path into photography before returning to the art world. Having a studio in Rye surrounded by wonderful and diverse artists allowed her to find mentors to help her develop her skills. Robert Greenhalf and Nick Archer are two such artists, both inspiring and encouraging.
